Synopsis:

Moderation Town is a comedy series about a small Maritime town after the local factory folds and is replaced by an Internet moderation company. Local residents become not-so-internet-savvy content moderators, responsible for filtering the most offensive content off of the Internet. They quickly learn how the culture of the web is different from their own as they notice how much the worst parts of the internet are affecting their lives.

Nick FlanaganNick Flanagan is the pop culture correspondent for toromagazine.com, a comedian who has smashed funnybones across the continent, singer of punk band Brutal Knights and a veteran of web video. His favorite food is a caviar and gold bar sandwich
Danielle BarkerDanielle Barker is a Comedian/Actress from small-town Salmon Arm, BC. Heard of it? Didn’t think so.

Currently living in Toronto and lovin’ every minute of it. (Except for when she swallows her gum.)

Danielle secretly records her father giving career advice (Danielle-Get a real job!) and has made a show out of it. (You can check out Starvival and Danielle’s other works here).

Mike McLeodMike McLeod is a Halifax based writer, actor, and producer. Born in London, Ontario, he has been working in Nova Scotia since 2003. He is a graduate of the Dalhousie Acting Programme, and has appeared on stage in productions for 2b Theatre, and Live Bait. He is one half of the creative team behind Loosen the Noose Productions– a local production company, through which he has written and produced the original works R a I n, and Eyes & The Object.

 

Pardis ParkerPardis Parker is an award-winning director, writer, actor, and comedian. Credits include the Canadian Comedy Awards (4 nominations), Canada’s Next Top Comic (finalist), British star David Baddiel’s
international stand-up competition (winner), the CBS Diversity Showcase, and NBC Universal’s Short Cuts Film Festival (semi-finalist). Acting credits include Snow, and Afghan.
Bob MannBob is a Halifax/Dartmouth based stand-up comedian who most recently appeared in Phone Whores, in which he played a devious call center-manager and was denied repeated requests for nude scenes. Bob has also composed musical scores for a number of stage productions. He has fathered many children. Maybe even yours.
Mike HampsonIn 1987 Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” was topping the pop charts.

In 1987 Mike Hampson was popping out of his mother’s bottom parts.

Fast forward 23 years: Rick Astley is back “Rick Rolling” and terrorizing the internet and so is Mike Hampson as Moderation Towns own vengeful hacker H8raid. Mike has been in lots of stuff you have never seen, but is now in something you might!

Amber MacAmber Mac is a technology host, journalist, and strategist. Her blog is wildly popular, as well as the various podcasts and TV shows she has spearheaded.
Trudy FongHalifax-based Trudy Fong is a stand-up comedian who uses her experiences as the mother of three, and her Maritime roots, as fodder for her comedy. She is also the author of several books. As Moderation Town’s Sandy, she is an unapologetic flirt with a zest for life that frequently gets her in trouble with her more straight-laced son.
