Louis Audet

Louis Audet, P. Eng., M.B.A., is President and Chief Executive Officer of COGECO Inc. and Cogeco Cable Inc.

He holds a Diploma in Science (DEC) from Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf, Montréal (1970), a Bachelor of Applied Sciences and an Electrical Engineering Degree (electronics and communication) from École Polytechnique de Montréal (1974) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts (1979).

Mr. Audet worked for four years as an Engineering Project Manager for Bell Canada in the Montréal area.  He acted in turn for the Outside Plant Network and Central Office Equipment departments.  After two years in Boston, Mr. Audet joined CF Cable TV (formerly Cable T.V. Inc.) as Assistant to the Vice-President, Development, and developed the firm's marketing plans with an emphasis on customer service.  In 1981, Mr. Audet joined COGECO as National Sales Director, Television Operations.  He served as Vice-President, Marketing and Development, and later as Executive Vice-President before becoming President of the Company in 1993.

Mr. Audet is a member of the boards of directors of COGECO and its affiliated companies.  He also serves on the board of directors of CableLabs since 1998.   

Mr. Audet was a member of the Boards of Directors of Clarica from 1997 to 2002, of the Canadian Cable Telecommunications Association (CCTA) from 1990 to 2006, of the Montréal Symphony Orchestra from 1995 to 1998 and again from 2004 to 2006 and of Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf from 1998 to 2009.  Mr. Audet is a past President of the Development Fund of Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf where he served from 1998 to 2009.  He has also been a member of La Corporation de l'École Polytechnique de Montréal from 1998 to 2006 and a member and governor of the Council on Canadian Unity from 1994 to 2006.  In 1989, he served as President of the Association canadienne de la radio et de la télévision de langue française.  He was Vice-President of the Television Board of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of Broadcaster (CAB) and a member of the Board of Directors from 1989 to 1994. Mr. Audet is also a member of the Order of Engineers of Québec and of the Mount-Royal and Saint-James Clubs of Montréal.

Mr. Audet was also involved in several major fundraising campaigns such as those of Centraide du Grand Montréal in 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2004, the 125th anniversary of l'École Polytechnique de Montréal in 1998, the Old Brewery Mission from 2003 to 2004, the Grande Campagne du Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal from 1998 to 2002, and again for its 2005 annual campaign, and the Fonds de développement du Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf from 1999 to 2001, and again for its three-year campaign, from 2006 to 2009.

In 1983, he married Jocelyne Francoeur and their daughter Émilie was born in 1990.
