Activities Report During 1996 the MHTV Fund celebrated its 5th anniversary with strong support from the industry across the country. 200 projects have received funding from the MHTV Fund since 1991, including 71 new Canadian dramatic series targeted for adult and children audiences, and 16 pilots for series - of which 5 have already proceeded into series production. As well, 113 training and professional development programs designed to enhance the industry's ability to produce high quality dramatic series, received grants from the MHTV Fund. Our investments represent from 5% to 10% of production budgets. Fifty series and pilots have been produced in English and 37 in French. These productions have been broadcast by 13 different private broadcasters in Canada, and many others are now second-window broadcasters. Nearly one-half of our investments, 42 projects, have begun to recoup their costs and return funds to the MHTV Fund. These recouped funds are immediately reinvested by the MHTV Fund into new series.
