November 20, 2024 – The IPF Board of Directors has approved production financing for 12 short form series, 8 in English and 4 in French. With combined financial backing from both the IPF and CMF, the total investment in the 12 series is nearly $3M.

IPF and CMF Expand Partnership with Short Form Series Production Funding

• Expanded partnership injects $1M into IPF production program
• Maximum request for production funding increased to $250,000

Toronto, September 17, 2024 – The Independent Production Fund (IPF) and the Canada Media Fund (CMF) are excited to announce the expansion of their financial partnership to now include funding for short form series productions. The Independent Production Fund has approved production financing in the amount of over $2.4M for the following 11 companies and television series (7 English language projects and 4 French language projects). The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and the Independent Production Fund (IPF) today announced the renewal of the IPF-CMF Short Form Series Development Program (formerly known as the Development Packaging Program: Short Form Scripted Series). With a total budget of $900,000, the program encourages the creation of high-quality, original, Canadian scripted short-form series. The maximum funding available for each successful project is $30,000.

The IPF Board of Directors has approved 2023 production financing for 9 scripted short form series.
